Lightmaster Product – Mini Darlek Spiral Spotlight

The Darlek Mini Spiral spotlight is one of the new additions to the Lightmaster range. Developed with the same 3x2W LED as it’s siblings, the Darlek Mini Fixed, Adjustable and Mini Smooth spotlight, it has been designed to be slightly more decorative. The spiral has an IP rating of 20, a 30 degree beam and requires a 500mA driver to run it.

The eye-catching design coupled with the 4 different finishes the fitting is available in, make it perfect for rooms which require spot lighting but want something a little unique.

The Spiral comes in matte white, matte black, satin nickel and bronze. These finishes allow the fitting to sit happily in any style of décor. The black and bronze fittings work well in properties with a lot of exposed wood and stone. The black also works in ultra-modern homes, especially those who favour the monochrome look. The satin nickel is probably the most decorative of the finishes. They’re so pretty and unique they can be used as feature lighting – one of our designers used them recently to light down a feature wall. We also used these at the Carpenter Oak stand at the National Self Build Renovation Centre in Swindon – we’ve worked with Carpenter Oak and other oak frame companies for many years now so we know how best to light them. The spiral is perfect as it’s able to twist to the perfect angle to pick up the features in the wood. At the moment, they’re still only semi-recessed so you can’t mount them onto your beams, however we do advise where possible not to fix light fittings to beams anyway.

The white version of the Spiral will go anywhere. It’s perfect on vaulted ceilings to wash light up into the eaves; it’s a good task light in kitchens as pictured below and if positioned correctly, it can be a great picture light – Lightmaster Design have a chart which allows us to know how far away the fitting needs to be from the picture to light it effectively.

Spotlights can make great task lighting in kitchens – if you angle them based around where you typically stand to cook, you’ll have great shadow free work space!
